War 2 Review : After watching War 2, I have to say that this film was quite disappointing. There are two major reasons for my anger and irritation. Firstly, the way the filmmakers have presented our country’s top defense units – R&AW and Para Commandos – seems like a mockery of their credibility and discipline.
Secondly, when even small film industries like Hollywood, Thai, South Korean and British are making great action films, the action sequences in War 2, made on a budget of Rs 400 crore, turned out to be much weaker than expected. The lack of reality and logic is clearly visible in almost every action scene of the film.
A look at the action scenes of the film
The film begins with Hrithik Roshan’s Japan mission. Here he faces dozens of katana swordsmen. But the entire scene has been shot in such a way as if modeling is being done in slow-motion. Even a pet wolf has been included without any context, which makes no sense.

On the other hand, the way Jr NTR’s entry is presented looks even more unbelievable. He plays a para commando, but his mission seems completely fictitious and far from reality. Entering a heavily armed Somali pirate ship without gear, without weapons, even hanging on to a drone, is not logical in any way.
Lack of logic
There are many moments in the film where basic reality completely disappears. For example, Hrithik Roshan flying a B2 bomber, which can only be flown by highly trained pilots of the US Air Force. Or fighting at high-altitude without oxygen masks and gear.
Similarly, even after getting shot, the characters start fighting again within a few minutes as if nothing has happened. The injuries of Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan’s characters disappear in the next scene. All this looks unbelievable to the audience.
Story and characterization
The structure of the story is also weak. Two boys who were pickpockets in childhood are suddenly made spies and para commandos protecting the country. No attention was paid to the background of the characters and their credibility.
Actors like Kiara Advani have been used only for glamour, while her character is that of a wing commander. This presentation is disappointing.
Technical aspects
Made on a budget of 400 crores, the visuals and some shots of this film are good. But the CGI looks very weak at many places. The hand-to-hand combat scenes have been particularly unsuccessful, which have neither reality nor impact.
Conclusion
War 2 was described as the biggest action experience of the spy universe. But this film does not reach that level anywhere. The story is scattered, the action seems artificial and the portrayal of the characters is inconsistent.
Despite the huge budget of 400 crores, the film proves to be weak in both its core strengths – strong action and strong story.
