Param Sundari Review: Siddharth Malhotra & Janhvi Kapoor loaded film Param Sundari which was in the news for a long time for its nature of presenting north india and south india, has finally released in the theaters. Audience were waiting and had high expectations from the film especially because of its production company Maddock Films which is known for them light-hearted and entertaining films like stree and stree 2.
Light-hearted story, interesting style
The story of the film has been kept very simple and straightforward. Siddharth Malhotra plays the role of a young man who creates a matchmaking app. His father puts a condition to fund the app that his match should be made first through this app.
This is where the fun and light-hearted journey of the film begins. Critics believe that while it was initially considered a normal and clichéd love story, it keeps the audience engaged with smiles and light laughter throughout the film.

Cultural balance: Malayali and Punjabi touch
After the trailer of the film was released, there were apprehensions that it would show Malayali and Punjabi culture in Bollywood-style stereotypes. But this did not happen at all on screen.
Siddharth’s character is a typical Punjabi boy from Delhi, who knows South Indian culture superficially. His ignorance may be reflected in funny dialogues, but Janhvi’s character breaks those stereotypes immediately every time.
For example, in one scene, when a Mohanlal song is played, Siddharth assumes it to be a Rajinikanth song. Janhvi’s response makes it clear that South India is not limited to just one actor or one state. In this way, the film presented cultural diversity in a respectful manner.
Great locations and authentic cast
The film has been shot primarily in Kerala. The backwaters, boat races and local festivals have been captured very beautifully. From the choice of locations to the camera work, every frame reflects liveliness. The characters portrayed by Janhvi’s family are cast by real actors from the Malayalam industry. Their language, dialogue delivery and presentation gave authenticity to the story.
Music: Sachin-Jigar’s magic
The music of the film is its strongest aspect. The songs composed by Sachin-Jigar had already become popular. Especially Sonu Nigam’s “Pardesiya”, which made the audience crazy even before its release. Its filming in the film is equally beautiful. The background music also matches the story and brings the atmosphere alive.
Performance and chemistry
- Sidharth Malhotra – His acting as a Punjabi boy from Delhi is natural and balanced. It is a relief that he did not overdo the character & maintain the balance in his acting.
- Jhanvi Kapoor – This time she impressed not only with her glamorous look but also with her comic timing and emotional scenes. Her hard work on Malayalam dialogues and dance was clearly visible.
- Manjot Singh – He brought life to the film with his comic timing & his comic timing is such an impressive.
Siddharth and Janhvi’s on-screen chemistry seemed a little uncomfortable in the beginning, but gradually became natural.
Humour and Screenplay
The screenplay of the film is light-hearted and natural. Meta humour has also been used in it, which was successful on most occasions. Some jokes seemed a bit dull, but overall the laughter and entertainment continued.
The story becomes a bit predictable in the second half – the audience can easily understand how the hero will now influence the villagers. Despite this, the presentation of the film is so engaging that the fun does not decrease despite the guesswork.
